When you think of an experience, it’s something that happens to you that you must share with others! It almost feels unreal and the array of emotions felt are beyond your control. This is what I experienced when I launched P3 Weddings and Events. I wanted a business I could see myself doing and one that involved beautiful celebrations draped in love. I wanted to see people happy and get caught up in the moment of enjoying themselves. My husband and I toured so many beautiful places while serving in the US Army; it always felt like a second honeymoon to us! Two of our favorite places that still hold such fond memories for us is Germany and Italy.
After the military, and relocating to North Carolina, I thought hard about what I should do next. I wanted to do something that would bring me the same peace and joy I felt in the army, helping others and being with my mother. I had many options of what I could do, but I needed affirmation and more importantly, considering ways to keep my mother close to me. It started with a tiny flower (the iris) my brother planted at my mother’s grave to remind us of the irreplaceable spirit she was. My husband and I dug up one of those flowers and took it with us back home to North Carolina to plant in our backyard. Winter always seems to be the hardest season to work through as I love being out in my garden, enjoying nature.
One winter, on the coldest day, December 31 st, my husband called while I was out, insisting I rush home. When I did, I’ll never forgot what we found. There it stood, strong as can be, unbothered by the brutal winter storm. It was the one iris plant we dug up and brought back home with us blooming in the middle of winter! Never had I seen or experienced anything like this before in my entire life! I now knew I had my mother’s approval in her own way to go ahead and begin my journey of being an incomparable wedding planner. My gift of being a creative spirit stemmed from all my mother taught me in going above and beyond in celebrating others. It didn’t matter if it was a birthday, anniversary or holiday; she always took it to the next level in hosting. She believed in being present in the moment for the person receiving recognition and doing so with style and grace. Hence, I birthed The Perfect Pair, my mother inspiring me through the iris flower to construct every event I touched with the sparkle she gave me. This initially is why our re-branding was so important to us. P3 brand was expanding and recently picked up the Richmond, VA area. My husband is still an Active Duty Logistics Officer in the Military, so we had to adjust to that change as well. Our focus was to explore; how could we better serve our current and new clients? How could we deepen our relationship with them? We recall every client we’ve had, their faces, and kind words spoken to us. We love keeping up with our family and sending anniversary wishes, happy holidays and milestones, etc. P3 Weddings and Events wanted to evolve to offer our clients 3 words that they’d never forget; those words are “The P3 Experience.”
